About The Art of Dog Training

At The Art of Dog Training (TAODT), we are passionate about helping dog owners build strong, respectful relationships with their dogs. Our training philosophy is based on the belief that well-mannered dogs are not only happier but training also leads to richer, more fulfilling lives. We strive to help every dog become a well-rounded, confident companion while providing owners with the skills and leadership to maintain that success long after the training sessions end.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to help dogs and their owners live harmoniously by teaching clear communication, building structure, and fostering mutual respect. Whether it’s a family dog learning basic manners or a service dog in training, our goal is to empower owners and dogs alike.

Our Approach

We believe that no two dogs are the same, and every training journey should reflect the unique needs of both the dog and its owner. That’s why our approach is personalized to fit each dog’s temperament, behavior, and household environment. From private in-home lessons to group outings, we provide comprehensive training solutions that address a wide range of behavioral challenges, obedience needs, and lifestyle goals.

What Sets Us Apart:

  • Customized Training Plans tailored to your dog’s specific needs.
  • Balanced Training Philosophy combining structure, leadership, and positive reinforcement.
  • Long-Term Results by teaching owners how to maintain training after sessions end.

Meet The Family

Phoenix

Phoenix is a 12-year old Belgian Malinois.  He has been protection trained and loves to chase a ball. And frisbees. And squirrels. And basically anything that moves fast.

Arrow

Arrow is an 11-year old Golden Retriever.   He has been therapy trained and service trained, and has traveled all over the country offering his services. He loves to chase a ball, but really his favorite thing to do is sleep.   He is particularly adept at getting a drink out of the fridge for any thirsty friends.

Zen

Zen is a 2-year old Golden Retriever. He is trained as a service animal, and has also traveled all over the country, following his “big” brother’s footsteps.  He is a goofball and loves to chase a ball. He also likes to jump recklessly into bushes.
